The new gym and commons were all aglow on Friday evening as pre-k through fourth graders created a whirlwind of neon colors during a glow dance.
“The kids have been talking about it for a week, and we are happy to see the high attendance,” said K-8 counselor Shanna Roloff, who supervised the event.
Elementary School Council members planned and hosted the dance. Money raised will go toward buying every preschooler through sixth grader a Clipper shirt next year,
“On homecoming days or Fridays or dress-up days, everyone can feel included, be a part of the school community,” Roloff said.
Besides moving to music in the gym, kids could get neon tattoos and face paint in the commons. Council members had a concession stand open as well.
Fifth graders Anistyn Dauk and Hazel O’Keefe staffed the gate.
Working the concession stand were fifth grader Emily Baker and sixth graders Harper Rutz, Evie Remiger and Kaelyn Blaschko.
