Visiting Le Sueur-Henderson on Tuesday didn’t give the C-squad girls too much of a problem during a 3-0 sweep.
Katelyn Flowers' ace serve tied the first game 3-3. After an Anna Lamont ace tip, ace serves by Jocelyn Kortuem and Cheyenne Lotspeich and a Lamont service ace, the Clippers were in front 11-6 and never lost the lead from there. The game ended 25-17 when the Giants sent a hit over the boundary line.
Flowers’ ace tip was the first point of game two. She followed it with a pair of service aces, and with a Valentina Rohlfing kill, the Clippers were in front 9-0.
Mixing up their offense, the Giants worked their way back and went ahead 12-11. But with Lamont and Flowers kills and a Kortuem service ace, the Clippers led 20-13. Down the stretch, Rohlfing swatted a kill, and the game ended 24-19 when Amelia Chmiel’s over found an open slot in the LSH side of the floor.
Taylor Wolf served up a pair of aces during a four-point Clipper spurt at the start of game three that put them up 4-1. They never looked back from there. Rohlfing pushed and tipped for a pair of winners, and Chmiel served a couple of aces for an 11-6 Clipper lead.
After Melissa Miller swung for a kill, and the Clippers were ahead 15-9 when the game timed out.
The Clippers will take on visiting Alden-Conger tonight (Friday).
