Visiting Lester Prairie didn’t give the B girls much trouble on Tuesday as the Clippers controlled the game almost from the get-go for a 35-21 triumph.
The Bulldogs scored the first basket, but after Sam Baker scored on an outside jump shot after a Taylor McCabe pass, Delaney Thompson stole and drove the floor for a layup. Olivia Reinhardt assisted Baker for another basket, and the Clippers never looked back.
From there, Kaitlyn Flowers went to work for three baskets. After McCabe plopped in a three, Mollie Bowman hit the second of two foul shots, and the Clippers led 17-7 at the break.
The Bulldogs scored inside to start the second half, but Reinhardt responded with a three from the corner. McCabe put in a hook shot to put the Clippers in front 23-7.
Later, Flowers drove the lane for a basket, Keira Schipper put in two buckets and an and-one free shot, and McCabe bagged a jumper from the baseline and spun for a basket.
With nine points, McCabe led the Clippers. Flowers scored eight points. Schipper had five points. Thompson and Baker each scored four points. Reinhardt scored three points. Taylor Wolf added a free throw.
Reinhardt and McCabe put in the game’s only threes. The Clippers were three for 11 from the foul line. The Bulldogs made one of three free throws.
The B girls travel to Randolph tonight (Thursday) for a 5:45 game. Tomorrow, they travel to Mankato to take on Loyola.
