Samantha Baker on the fast break

Visiting Faribault Bethlehem Academy roughed up the B-Squad girls 46-20 on Thursday.

The Cardinals took the jump ball up and in for a three, followed it up with another three and never trailed.

With the Clippers behind 8-0, Taylor McCabe pulled down an offensive rebound for the Clippers’ first basket. The Cardinals controlled the offensive boards for four more points. Taylor Wolf twisted inside for two, but BA scored again to lead 14-4.

Later in the first half, Olivia Reinhardt plopped in a shot from outside, McCabe put in a running jump shot from the lane, and Mollie Bowman spun in the lane for a bucket, but the Cardinals led 26-11 at the break.

Cutting off Clipper passes inside, the Cardinals scored the first five baskets of the second half, four of them after steals. Sam Baker broke up the run with a basket from the corner, but the Cardinals scored the next eight points.

Keira Schipper looped in a three, and Valentina Rohlfing stole at half court and put in a layup and took an Ava Kluntz assist up and in for the Clippers’ final two baskets.

McCabe had five points in one half played. Rohlfing had four points. Schipper, who only played in the second half, posted three points. Bowman, Reinhardt, Wolf and Baker each chipped in two points.
