Charlotte Meyer

With a PR 11:27.85, seventh grader Charlotte Meyer took sixth place in the Class A 3200-M run at the state track & field meet at St. Michel-Albertville High School this (Thursday) afternoon.

The winning time was 10:52.85. All runners in front of Meyer were either juniors or seniors. There were 17 competing.

Meyer was two and a half seconds behind the girls Cleveland School record. Her qualifying time at sections was 11:28.84.

The girls state Class A 3200 record is 10:26.41. The Minnesota all-time record is 10:06.19. The National high school record is 9:47.88.

Meyer got to stand on the winner’s podium and received a medal for her effort.

In other Loyola-Cleveland action, Soren Kelly was 10th in the 3200 with a PR 9:55.82. The winning time was 9:31.95.

In the girls prelim 100-M hurdles, Maddie Huiras was 16th, 1.23 seconds behind the winner, and did not advance to tomorrow’s finals. In the prelim 300-M hurdles, she was 17th, 2.51 seconds behind the winner, and did not advance to the finals. In the boys prelim 300-M hurdles, Chase Kijenski was 12th, 2.44 seconds behind the winner, and did not advance.

The state meet is divided into three classes: A, AA and AAA.
