Cruising through Providence Academy in New Prague last Saturday and Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton at home on Tuesday, the JV girls remain unbeaten.
JWP posted the first four points in game one and went on another four-point run to lead 9-5.
Valentina Rohlfing dispatched back-to-back ace serves for the first Clipper points. Cheyenne Lotspeich deadlocked the game at nine with an ace serve. The Bulldogs hung around until the 13-13 mark, but the Clippers went on the warpath from there with kills by Aubrey Blaschko, Kaitlyn Flowers (above) and Maile Meissner during an 8-point surge that put the Clippers in front 21-13.
Rohlfing sent over another ace serve down the stretch and the game ended 25-14 on a Bulldog hit over the boundary line.
Evelyn Keltgen’s kill capped off an 8-point Clipper run that started game two. From there, Taylor McCabe and Flowers spiked winners, Kiera Schipper served an ace, and Ava Kluntz pushed the ball into an open slot of JWP floor for a 22-13 Clipper lead.
The Bulldogs came up with a couple of kills down the stretch, but the game ended 25-19 when they hit into the net.
With three kills were Meissner, Keltgen, Kluntz, McCabe and Flowers. Blaschko added one kill.
Jocelyn Kortuem had nine set assists. Blaschko set up one point.
Luci Blaschko and Amelia Chmiel each hoisted six digs. Kortuem scooped four digs, and Rohlfing had one dig.
Kortuem, Meissner and McCabe each had one block.
Rohlfing served three aces. Kortuem had two ace serves, and Lotspeich had one ace serve.
In game one against Providence, the Clippers dominated the Lions 25-11. Kortuem led off with an ace serve. A pair of Luci Blaschko ace tips put the Clippers in front 7-2. Down the stretch, Kortuem followed a kill with an ace tip, and the game ended on a Rohlfing kill.
Game two started on a Schipper kill. Lotspeich dished up a couple of ace serves, and McCabe tipped over an ace. With a hat trick of Rohlfing service aces, the Clippers led 19-11. Schipper served aces for points 23 and 24, and the game ended 25-16 when the Lions contacted the net.
McCabe totaled five kills. Schipper and Rohlfing each had two kills. Lotspeich completed six assists.
Lotspeich dished up four aces. Kortuem, Rohlfing and Schipper each served three aces. Luci Blaschko had two ace serves. McCabe had one ace serve.
Kortuem and McCabe each shoveled six digs. Isabel Duron had five digs. Lotspeich, Luci Blaschko and Rohlfing each had three digs. Meissner had three digs.
As a B-squad, a mixture of C and JV players, the Clippers return to action on at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in a match against host St. Peter.
