Hindered by a lackluster offense, the C girls couldn’t extend the momentum they had in their win at Mayer last week and fell to host Wabasso 2-0 on Monday.

The Clippers got down early and never came back in game one. The game ended 25-16 on a Rabbit ace serve.

Sierra Lotspeich feigned a set and pushed it over for the first winner of game two and a 4-4 tie, but the Rabbits started to separate soon after. For the Clippers second winner, Cassidy Otto served up an ace in a three-point Clipper run that put them within four, 13-9.

But a Clara Hilfer kill, her third in the match, was the only non-Wabasso error the Clippers scored on, and the Rabbits again won 25-16, this time on a kill.

Lotspeich swung for a pair of kills on the night. Mattea Grandaw and Liviana Lee each had one kill.

Lotspeich and Jessilynn Milnes each had one set assist.

Madison Wollschlager had five digs. Taylor Wolf had three digs. Hilfer had two digs. Grandaw had one dig. Lee had one dig and Lotspeich had two digs.

The C Clippers will look to up their offense today (Thursday) when they host Martin County West at 4:30 p.m.
