Easy sweeping visiting Madelia 25-14, 25-15, 25-14, the varsity volleyball girls advance to the second round of section playoffs tonight (Thursday).
They will take on Martin County West at Minnesota Valley Lutheran at 6:00 p.m..
Ava Hahn dispatched a dozen kills. Melia Sathoff had 10 kills. Taylor McCabe had five kills. Jocelyn Bartell had three kills. Jocelyn Kortuem hit for a pair of kills. Sophie Perkins had two kills and 29 set assists.
Savannah Meyer, Lacey McCabe and Hahn each passed for one assist.
Hahn hoisted 11 digs, Sathoff scooped nine digs, and Meyer scraped eight digs. Kortuem and Lacey McCabe each had four digs. Bartell, Taylor McCabe and Luci Blaschko each had one dig.
Taylor McCabe stretched for once solo ace block and a pair of ace block assists. Hahn and Bartell each posted one solo ace block and one ace block assist. Sathoff had one ace block assist. Perkins teamed up on one ace block.
Sathoff sent over five ace serves. Meyer had two ace serves. Hahn and Kortuem each had one ace serve.
The Clippers swept Madelia and MCW as well in the Valley Conference season.
On the other side of the subsection, BOLD takes on BLHS in the 7:45 game at MVL. The two winners compete against each other at St. Peter High School on October 29 at 7:45.
In the other half of the section, Mayer Lutheran plays ML/GHEC/T while Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s takes on Cedar Mountain. Those games are in St. Peter.
