Trailing 14-4 at the half, the junior high girls dominated visiting Nicollet after the break for a 32-16 triumph on Tuesday.
Kenzie Kortuem (above) stole and drove from shore to shore for a layup that pulled the Clippers within two, 16-14, and it was all Clippers after that.
On a jumper, Harley Samuleson deadlocked the contest at 16 before Kortuem assisted Natalie Flowers with a bucket that put the Clippers up by two. Kortuem swiped and scored again, and Anistyn Dauk got in the action with a basket from under the hoop.
With Kortuem and Hadley Thompson steals continuing to thwart the Raider offense, Emily Baker bagged a basket. From there, Kortuem scored again, Fowers scored twice, and another Kortuem bucket punctuated the Clipper triumph.
The seventh-grade Clippers, who were coming off a split with visiting St. Clair the Friday before, winning the first game 30-21 but edged in the second 27-24, return to action on Monday when they road trip to Alden for one game. On Friday, they travel to Mapleton for two games.
