Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons game to town on Friday but didn’t give the junior high girls much trouble in a 41-19 Clipper triumph.
Limiting the Knights to just a pair of baskets from the floor and a free basket, the Clippers, paced by five Natalie Flowers baskets, three Gretchen Heldberg baskets and Hadley Thompson bucket for good measure, led 18-5 at the break.
Flowers went on to put in four more buckets from the floor and a pair of freebies in the second half to pace the Clippers with 20 points. After the break, Heldberg bagged a two and the Clippers’ only three for 11 total points. Thompson sunk three second-half baskets and totaled eight points. Harley Samuelson chipped in a pair of free throws.
The Clippers made four of six free shots. The Knights made four of 11 shots from the charity line.
The junior high Clippers are back in action on Monday when they road trip to Granada.
