Pre-K through fourth graders lit up the new gym and commons on Friday evening for the annual glow dance.

The event, which drew a much larger crowd than last year, was put on by the Elementary Student Council.

“Student Council is mainly about helping make the community better,” said member Kenzie Sandhurst, a fifth grader. "We're doing this for Kindness Week."

Last year, funds raised from the glow dance helped fund a gaga pit for the playground (gaga is a softened version of dodgeball). Money raised at this glow dance will go towards the Mighty Myles Superhero Network, said elementary counselor Shanna Roloff. In memory of Myles Genelin (2017-2020), the MMSN’s mission is to support families of chronically ill children and families experiencing child loss.

Besides dance under the neon lights of the new gym, the students could play games, color, and get their faces painted.
