St. Clair came to town and beat the Clipper eighth-grade boys 46-32 on Friday.
Kyle Conner rebounded and scored for the Clippers’ first basket, but St. Clair had already posted seven points by then.
Conner scored on a jumper to pull the Clippers within five, 9-4, but St. Clair responded with a three.
Later in the half, Hunter Plafcan made a jump shot, and Kale Kelley scored from inside.
From there to the break, Plafcan made a three pointer and a two-point basket, Alexander Johnson made a basket from the floor and two freebies, Blake Lyons {above) sunk a two-point shot, and Thayne Remiger hit a free throw.
The Clippers only trailed by three at halftime, 23-20, but the Cyclones outscored the Clippers 23-12 after that.
Finishing the night with 10 points, Lyons scored eight of the dozen while Plafcan and Kelley each scored two more points.
The Clippers host JWP on Monday.
