Coming back from a double-digit deficit, the Clipper B-Squad volleyball girls took game one and then never looked back, dominating game two for a win over host New Ulm Cathedral on Thursday.
The Clippers were out in front early in game one but had trouble on the serve receive after that. Working their way back though, they knotted the game 23-23 after a Greyhound error.
From there, it mostly went down to who could control their attacks.
NUC went up 24-23 when the Clippers airmailed a spike over the boundary line. The Clippers pulled ahead 26-27 on a hit out of bounds. Finally, freshman Sophie Perkins sent over an ace serve for a 30-28 Clipper victory.
Game two was all Cleveland as the Clippers skated to a 25-16 triumph.
Freshman Ava Hahn and sophomore Chloe Anderson each scooped up nine digs. Hahn swatted four ace serves.
Perkins and sophomore Greta Hahn each smacked down four kills. Perkins propped up four set assists. Junior Serena Remiger had four blocks.
The Clipper Bs, coached by Sally Kortuem, are back in action on Tuesday when they host Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton.
