With a 19:43 finish, 75 seconds behind the first-place runner, Nathan Strobel was first for the varsity Crusaders and fourth overall on the New Richland golf course on Tuesday.
Teammate Corbin Diechman was ninth overall with a 19:21 finish. Rounding out the Loyola-Cleveland front five were Sam Vetter in 14th place (19:32), Carter Zimmerman in 19th place (19:46) and Soren Kelly in 22nd place (20:02).
Teamwise, the Crusaders were third of eight. There were 69 competing.
James Young came in 24th (20:16), TJ Waldron was 31st (20:58), and Jorden Rossow was 33rd (21:03).
For the varsity girls, Kathryn Huisken was 10th (23:43), Molly Koester and Grace Monson directly followed her (23:46 and 23:50 respectively). Cora Koester finished 41st (29:16), and Alexa Bolstad was 52nd (36:36). There were 54 runners, and the winning time was 20:59.
In the 2000-meter girls junior high event, sixth grader Valentina Rohlfing’s 8:46 finish, 26 seconds off the pace, was first-place for the Crusaders and fifth-place overall. Charlotte Kirschner was seventh with a 9:00 finish. Anika Sathoff was 11th with a 9:54 completion. Hannah Coudron was 13th with a 9:59. There were 22 runners.
In the 2000-meter boys junior high race, Mitchell Buboltz was eighth with an 8:27. Elijah Mons directly followed with an 8:41 finish. Jack Sullivan was 11th with an 8:53, Isaac Couldron was 13th with a 9:19, and Charlie Maxfield was 19th with a 11:05. There were 21 runners, and the winning time was 7:49.
The Crusaders return to action on Friday at the Milaca Mega meet. They travel to Sleepy Eye on Thursday.
