A quick and accurate shooting Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial easily downed the Clipper B girls 52-19 in Lake Crystal on Saturday.
LCWM made a statement right away with a couple of threes.
In a pair of trips to the foul line, Lacey McCabe made two points, but up 8-2, the Knights posted the next 19 points, including a trio of threes before Asia Kern plunked in a three with four minutes left in the first half.
McCabe drove for a basket, but the Knights ended the half making all free shots after a three-shot foul for a 32-7 lead at halftime.
Micah Peterson (above) drove the baseline for the first basket after the break. Other baskets in the second half came from a pair of McCabe jump shots and a free throw, a Peterson three and a basket by Ava La France from just in front of the three-point line.
McCabe led the effort with nine points. Peterson had five points. Kern had three points. LaFrance added two points. The Clippers made three of eight free-throw shots. LCWM put in seven threes and were successful in seven of 16 foul shots.
The B girls return to action on Tuesday when they host New Ulm Cathedral.
