For her hard work in and out of the classroom, Madysen Seely is one of two CHS nominees for the Minnesota State High School League’s Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership (ExCEL) award.
Seely plays flute in the Senior-High Concert Band and the Pep Band. She plays piano for Jazz 1.
She competes in softball and volleyball at CHS and is a member of the St. Peter JO volleyball league.
She participates in Knowledge Bowl, is a member of FFA and is a role model for younger students in the school’s mentoring program. She also volunteers at Royal Family Kids Camp.
Her favorite subject is history.
Her most influential mentor is her grandmother Jean Seely (right).
“She has been an inspiration and an amazing support system through everything I've done. She is the absolute best person in my life, and I give her full credit for whom I've become today.”
To be eligible for the ExCEL Award, students must be a junior, make satisfactory progress toward graduation requirements, participate in a State High School League-sponsored fine arts and/or athletic activity, hold a leadership position in their school, and work voluntarily in their community as well as meet MSHSL general eligibility requirements.
