Tall and long St. Clair rolled over the visiting Clipper B squad boys on Monday 50-16.
The Cyclones, who topped the Clippers 66-24 earlier in the season, posted 27 points before a pair of Nathan Seeman free shots dropped through the weaving.
Carson Lyons (above), in the Clipper lineup for the first time this season after finally getting through a football injury, put in four free throws, and Seeman added one more, but that was all the Clippers could muster in the first half, and they went into the locker room trailing 32-7.
The Cyclones posted the next nine points of the second frame before Jorden Schmidt scored from inside. The Cyclones added four more points. Seeman hit a three, but the Cyclones equaled it on their ensuing possession.
Lyons put in a jumper and a pair of freebies, but that was all the Clippers came up with in the second half, and St. Clair cruised to the victory.
Lyons totaled eight points. Seeman had six, and Schmidt added two points. The Clippers were nine of 16 from the foul line. St. Clair put in a pair of threes and were six of 16 in free throw shooting.
The Clippers were coming off of a 60-16 loss in Alden on December 17. They were decisively down 41-8 at the break.
Gavin Karels led that effort with six points. Alex Johnson had four points. Bode Bartell put in a three-pointer. Nathan Strobel and Mason Kluntz each chipped in two points.
The Clippers made two of six free shots. The Knights put in three threes and were seven of 12 from the foul line.
A day before that, the B Clippers fell 53-35 at Lester Prairie. They trailed 31-13 at the half.
With 16 points, Bartell was the only Clipper in double figures. He put in the Clippers’ two three-point baskets. Strobel scored three baskets from the floor for six points. Seeman had two baskets for four points. Kluntz, Schmidt and Johnson each put in a bucket. Elijah Mons added a free throw.
The Clippers were seven of 15 from the foul line. The Bulldogs rained down seven threes and were 16 of 24 in free throw shooting.
The B boys will look to up their game on Thursday when they host a rematch against Alden-Conger.
